During a Dominican Republic embassy hostage situation in Bogota, Colombia (1980) by members of the M19, a few Americans were among the hostages. The American TV News networks and wire services converged on Bogota for the stand-off. Since we could never see the embassy building, we had to stake out the scene 24/7. Tents were erected and pretty soon there was real urban sprawl. Here's a look at what happened one day when nothing was going on. The press turned the camera on themselves. |
